Locomoctavia Fairy Tales Arrive on Ocarina: 7 New Playlists to Listen, Imagine, and Share

    21/01/26 Ocarina listening tips
Starting today, seven new fairy tale playlists in Italian arrive on the Ocarina website — all created by Locomoctavia, the artistic project of Daniele and Tanja Fior, which weaves together theatre, music, and illustration to create high-quality audiobooks designed for children — and for the adults who listen with them.

Those who follow the Ocarina blog – The pOnd might remember that some time ago we had already met Locomoctavia in an interview: a conversation about the power of voice, about listening as an active experience that can stimulate imagination, concentration, and connection, and about the fairy tale as a free space that speaks to many ages at once.
A way of understanding audio that feels deeply aligned with Ocarina’s philosophy: thoughtful, non-intrusive listening experiences that nourish the imagination and last over time.

Locomoctavia: audiobooks that are true sound performances

The Locomoctavia project was born in 2013 from a very concrete family need — to offer children stories in Italian that were well-crafted, respectful, and meaningful, at a time when high-quality audiobooks were still hard to find.
Since then, the work of Daniele Fior and his collaborators has evolved, blending theatre, music, and children’s literature.
In their audiobooks, the music doesn’t merely accompany the text — it expands its meaning, creates rhythm, opens up imaginative spaces, and gives the stories a true sense of depth.

The 7 playlists now available on Ocarina

The seven playlists now available on the Ocarina website gather a selection of classic fairy tales, traditional stories, and ironic, poetic, and adventurous tales — all designed for shared or individual listening, always screen-free.

    Alice in Wonderland
Daniele Fior guides the listener through Lewis Carroll’s surreal world, giving voice to rabbits, hares, caterpillars, hatters, and all sorts of curious creatures. The narration becomes a true sound journey, brought to life by the music of Guappecarto.
An experience that grows and transforms alongside Alice, through wonder, rhythm, and imagination.

The Dragon of K and Other Polish Tales
Four fairy tales from Polish tradition — with dragons, capricious kings, hidden treasures, and unlikely knights. The writing flows with irony and lightness, while the music builds intense, immersive soundscapes.
A listening experience that combines fun and poetry without ever losing its sense of playfulness.

    Andersen – Fairy Tales
Seven beloved classics by Hans Christian Andersen, told with care and depth — from The Princess and the Pea to The Nightingale, passing through The Steadfast Tin Soldier and The Emperor’s New Clothes.
An audiobook that restores all the strength of oral storytelling, enriched with original music performed by a talented ensemble.

    The Little Witch
A German children’s classic by Otfried Preussler, interpreted by the voice of Aida Talliente and accompanied by Antonello Gravela on saxophone.
A witty, clever story about rules, growing up, and common sense — without ever losing the joy of play.

    The Adventures of Augusta Snorifass
Eight delicate and elegant stories following a little paper doll through the seasons. The words of Chiara Carminati and the narration of Daniele Fior create a light, poetic world where every encounter becomes a moment of discovery.

    Il Giornalino di Gian Burrasca
A great classic of Italian literature, narrated in the first person with energy, rhythm, and irony. Daniele Fior’s voice and Tommaso Rolando’s double bass capture all the emotional highs and lows of Giannino Stoppani in a long and captivating listening experience.

    The Conference of the Animals
A choral story inspired by the masterpiece of Erich Kästner, in which the animals decide to intervene to defend the future of children.
A vibrant, multi-voice audiobook that speaks of peace, responsibility, and shared imagination.
