Vado al massino - Vasco Rossi

    10/02/22 Ocarina listening tips

The Sanremo Festival has just ended, five intense days of beautiful songs, dramas, laughter, fancy clothes with lace and sequins (apart from Truppi’s tank top  ) and many transgressions…

But in the ranking of the most transgressive artists who have participated in the Festival over the years, the first place goes to Vasco Rossi, the only Italian rock star who is now 70 years old and who 40 years ago made his debut at the Festival with his unforgettable song Vado al massimo. And just in recent days Vasco has posted on social media a video of his first performance on the stage of the Ariston Theatre, which raised a fuss for dropping his microphone leaving the stage! “I remember that behind the scenes they all looked at me as if I were an alien, when for me the aliens were the ones who dressed up and made up, I was interested in getting on stage” – Vasco recalls in his post. That year he placed last, but that was the beginning of his legend.
Vado al Massimo, a single that tells of the need to push your limits, will introduce the album of the same name, which was released in April 1982 and remained on the charts for sixteen weeks, selling more than 200,000 copies.

During the Covers’ Night of the 72nd Festival, Rkomi and Calibro 35 paid homage to the Rocker from Zocca by presenting an 80′ Medley that included three of his songs. An exhibition that Vasco seems to have appreciated very much.
